Portola Coffee Roasters’ new Theorem menu offers a multi-sensory craft coffee experience designed to get guests to try to taste colors. As all Theorem menus, this one features barista-driven coffee creations that focus on sustainable and seasonal ingredients, complex textures, and global flavors.

“Synesthesia is a sensation we experience when two or more of our senses get crossed,” explained Christa Duggan, who opened the flagship Portola Coffee Roasters location in Costa Mesa in 2011. “Some people can feel sounds, while others can taste colors. The latter is what our current Theorem menu intends to present, along with a deeper understanding of the nuances of Portola coffee and our inspired brewing techniques.”

SYNESTHESIA MENU

Flat Brown – espresso, red velvet ganache, beetroot powder, milk (served hot or cold)
